St. Stephen’s High School is among the first Manila schools to be approved by the Department of Education to implement the new Hybrid mode of education. Under the Hybrid system, students will be able to take some lessons on-campus according to government regulations.

St. Stephen’s welcomed students back to its campus today for the first time in 2 years as part of the Hybrid pilot program. The system will be fully operational for the 2022-2023 academic year which begins in August. Great care has been taken to limit the spread of viruses. These include temperature checks before entering campus, frequent sanitation and washing of hands, enhanced ventilation, and much more. These methods were heartily approved by a delegation of Department of Education officials who recently visited the school.

St. Stephen’s parents will be able to choose either Hybrid or purely online instruction for the 2022-2023 academic year. St. Stephen’s will continue to offer small class sizes to maximize the attention its teachers devote to each student. Each lesson will be dedicated to an on-campus or online class. The school believes that this approach offers better instruction than the Hyflex system because the attention of the instructor is not divided between two audiences. Also, the most effective methods used in the classroom are different from those used online.

St. Stephen’s High School continues to educate the whole child: mind, body, and heart in community. The school plans to allow interested students to participate in extra and co-curricular activities according to Department of Education guidelines as soon as they are allowed.
