Stamp Exhibit at SSHS

In support of the Philippine Philatelic Federation, Inc.’s advocacy on promoting the hobby of stamp collecting to the young generation, our school, St. Stephen’s High School, has generously and willingly made its campus available for the stamp collecting exhibit. The simple stamp collecting exhibit in conjunction with the National Stamp Collecting Month this November displays the different historic stamps. The exhibit was set up at the Elementary Lobby from November 9 – 13, 2015.

Before the official opening of the exhibit, Mr. Reynaldo Ong De Jesus together, with Mr. Hans-Werner Becker awarded the principal Dr. Judy Go Tan, Ph D a plaque to honor the school for its invaluable support and participation in the National Stamp Collecting Month celebration.

To make the children understand the beauty and the benefits of stamp collection, a lecture/talk with the elementary pupils was also held. Mr. Reynaldo Ong De Jesus and a passionate stamp collector from Luxemburg, Mr. Hans Becker explained to the Stephenians how beneficial stamp collecting hobby is.

In a week’s time, the pupils enjoyed the exhibit during recess and lunch break. Some of them bought stamps. Somebody from the Philpost was assigned to stay in the lobby and entertained the questions of the children just in case there are queries about the displays.
