SSHS hosted the Annual Fed Run for God’s Faithfulness

In celebration of St. Stephen’s High School 100th Anniversary, and God’s faithfulness, the school together with St. Stephen’s High School Alumni Association and St. Stephen Parish hosted the Fed Run 2017 held at the SM Moa Grounds last February 12, 2017.

Fed Run, which started in year 2104, is an annual running event organized by FFCAAI (Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Associations, Inc.) that aims to promote camaraderie, healthy and active lifestyle, close family ties and social awareness.

The number of participants for the 1st and 2nd Fed Run has reached a total of around 8,500 people. And this year, with more than 4,000 of participants coming from the SSHS Family, it has gathered more than 9,000 participants which eventually broke records of the past 2 Fed Runs. With the increase in number of schools and students engagement every year, it shows that this kind of activity has truly made an impact in the lives of participants.

Just like the previous years, there were 4 main events for the participants to join, namely: 3K, 5K, 10K and 16K race categories. From the start up to the end, the event was jam-packed with people of all ages. Either they come in groups, by two’s or indivually, it’s a scenario that depicted happiness. Happiness exults from people who were there to run for a cause and not just for the prize. At the end of the day, all finishers received a specially-crafted medal and some giveaways from event sponsors.

Before the awarding, excitement filled the air as SSHS’ Grade 12 students gathered to render a very special SSHS Centennial Cheering number with a blast to entertain all the participants. It was such a beautiful program that cheers of happiness could be heard blocks around. At the end of the program, SSHS, being the host, was the school with the biggest contingent, and was declared the champion and also in the over-all team category. All praises, honor and glory unto Him.
