SSHS Hosted the 2016 Teachers’ Training Workshops
Every summer, the Association of the Chinese - Filipino School in the Philippines, organizes intensive training workshops for Filipino - Chinese teachers to prepare them for the coming school year. The objective is to equip teachers with new and attractive teaching styles and techniques tailored to make learning Chinese easy.
Hosted by St. Stephen’s High School this year, a total of about 140 teachers participated in the three- week long workshops held from April 25 to May 13, 2016. During the closing ceremony at SSHS’ Stephenian Hall on May 13, 2016, Principal Lee Shu Hwei, who chaired and represented the Association of the Chinese - Filipino School in the Philippines, thanked the organizers for the support given to the Chinese education in the Philippines. She also expressed her sincerest gratitude to the seven lecturers, all who generously passed their torch of expertise to the teachers by providing intensive trainings, workshops and seminars. Teachers also benefited from the exchange of teaching experiences in the Chinese language gained from this training.
