Interschool Earth Systems Quiz

Delight in God’s Blessings

Blessings after blessings have been harvested for the past years at SSHS. For all these tangible and intangible blessings, we delight and rejoice with our God Almighty.

St. Stephen’s High School is a school that commits to raise generations of learners who hold greater confidence that victory is theirs to claim when battle is fought and faced with God the Father as their partner. With this commitment, the school has been exploring all possible ways that would contribute to the realization of this goal.

Among the school programs that have proven to have helped young learners is the Interschool Earth Systems Quiz. This annual activity aims to foster camaraderie among the contestants from different schools and calibrate their knowledge in Science particularly on Earth Systems. The competition helps ignite the students’ love towards Science. It also inspires the young scientists to expand the knowledge on Sciences.

This year’s competition was held last February 7, 2015, Saturday with “Light in the Earth Systems” as the theme. There were eleven (11) schools who responded positively to the challenge and among the eleven schools, Saint Jude Catholic School, St. Peter the Apostle School and Elizabeth Seton School respectively came out victorious in this battle of the brains among the young scientists as identified by their respective schools.

The contest was judged by Mr. Miguel Cano, SSHS Science Curricular Head, Mr. Jason Punay, Bicol University Professor and Mr. Chris Louie Lu, Secretary of Astronomical League of the Philippines.

The winners happily went home with cash prizes of P3,000 (1st), P2,000 (2nd), P1,000 (3rd), medals and certificates plus full color Grade 6 and 7 Science textbooks for the coaches.
