Every year, the Guidance and Counseling Center holds Career Conferences for Grade 10 and 4th year High School students. This year, it was held on July 24, 30-31, August 1 & 4, 2014. The event aims to strengthen the students' awareness on the need to plan for their career as well as gain insight into courses and universities available for them.
Central topics discussed were: Bracing for ASEAN 2015 by Ms. Adelaida de Perio, Planning for Life by Pastor Jonathan Fenix, Basic Choices by Ms. Selene Yu, Success: Make it Happen by Mr. Michael Teo.
Grade 10 students had career exploration on different programs discussed by invited alumni. Marketing – Mr. Christopher Cincochan Interior Design – Ms. Jemy Clarisse Cailles Lo Electronics and Communications Engineering – Engr. Kim Benedict Chua Law – Atty. Anna Olivia Lee Medicine – Dr. Rachel Chua, M.D. Computer Science – Mr. Richard Sia Advertising Arts – Ms. Michelle Ching Mechanical Engineering – Engr. Dennis Tan Hotel and Restaurant Management – Ms. Alexandra Alaba Management of Financial Institutions – Mr. Sydney Tacuboy Applied Corporate Management – Mr. Eric Darryl Lim They were done either through panel interview or small group discussion.
Fourth year students, on the other hand, had career talks by different colleges/universities and a university exhibit showcasing 35 schools held at the Stephenian Hall.
