St. Stephen's High School Hosted AMC

Having been true to its vision of becoming a lighthouse to the community, St. Stephen’s School generously shares its facilities to different agencies/institutions like Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG).

Last August 6, 2015, the school hosted the Australian Math Competition (AMC), being one of the three testing centers for the NCR. The competition is being done simultaneously in other regional testing centers throughout the Philippines under the supervision and coordination of Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST – SEI) and the MTG. This is an annual competition where contestants both from public and private schools are given series of math problems to solve under specified time limit. AMC is one of the world’s largest school – based mathematics competitions since 1978.

For this year’s competition, the school accommodated 445 contestants ranging from grades 3 to 11 of the 20 participating schools.
